Columbia Marching Band Covid-19 Information

UPDATE 7/31/2020 - As a result of the School District's decision regarding fall reopening ALL band activities have been CANCELLED until further notice.  Please keep an eye out for communication emails and the Marching Band Facebook group.  Contact Mr McEntee or chsbandbossters@gmail.com if you have further questions.  Thank you for your patience!

Here is the latest update as regards to what the marching band season will look like.  It will be a season like no other, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a fun, productive, quality learning experience.  PLEASE have parents and students read the attached documents so that everyone understands.  Mr. McEntee has worked diligently to try to make this season as safe and productive as possible within the guidelines he has to work with.  Here is  "Steph's short summary": (that's what Mr. Mac named it) :). Safety protocol is included in the handbook. Please read it over thoroughly.
  1. Band camp will happen, but will be significantly shorter. Percussion & leadership begins THIS Wednesday!
  2. ALL of camp will take place OUTSIDE.  Staff as well as percussion & sousas will be the only people allowed in the building
  3. The band will be working on/performing movement one of LOST (or as I like to call it LOST - COVID EDITION)
  4. All marching band competitions/festivals this fall have been cancelled, including D3
  5. If allowed by the Idaho High School Athletic, the band will be performing during the 4 home football games. (This will be subject to change)
  6. The band will not be wearing uniforms this fall.
  7. Show shirts are still a possibility (details will be worked out as camp progresses)
  8. Flexibility and Patience are the magic words for this season.  The situation remains extremely fluid and can (probably will) change day to day.
If you need to contact Mr. Mac, please do so by email.  You can also contact the Boosters if you have questions, we will do our best to try to get answers for you.  This season is not ideal by any means, but it can still be one that the students (especially seniors) will not soon forget.  The Marching Wildcat Band has been a force to be reckoned with for the last 3 years, there is no reason why we can’t continue to be one this year as well.
